Trader Joe’s is everyone’s go-to for a tasty snack or a quick meal prep. When we heard that they had recently restocked their shelves with spring food items, we had to go check it out. As we walked around the store, we noticed so many delicious-looking snacks. Here are some of our top finds!
Blood orange mochi (6.5/10)
These little bites of stretchy mochi and cold ice cream are perfect for a hot summer day. To us, blood orange tastes like a sweeter version of grapefruit, which is what we expected the mochi to taste like. We were a bit disappointed to see that the ice cream tasted more of strawberry than orange, but the orange-flavored mochi covering made up for it. Although the flavors didn’t quite go together, the mochi and ice cream separately were both delicious. These treats are fantastic for the fruit lover!
Salted caramel mochi (8/10)
The salted caramel mochi fully reinforced our belief in mochi ice cream. However, in terms of value, these were definitely smaller than the blood orange mochi and a little flatter too. Regardless, the stretchy and chewy mochi perfectly encompassed the flavors of vanilla ice cream and sweet caramel. “I’m not a huge super-sweet foods person, so it being salty was kind of nice,” senior Gauri Govil says. The treat was just the right combination of sweet and salty, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new obsession.
Dark chocolate covered bon bons (7.5/10)
Stuffed with chocolate mousse on a cookie base, the bon bons are a one-bite sweet treat worth trying. The outer chocolate shell is crunchy but not too hard and the cookie base adds a contrasting texture. The only slightly unappealing thing about these bon bons is the fact that since they’re stored by the freezer items, the mousse was hard and not creamy. Overall, they were delicious: not too sweet but still delectable.
Blonde bar (8.5/10)
The blonde bar is the now-popular caramel white chocolate bar with sugar cookie crumbles. The white chocolate is creamy and melts in your mouth, with the sugar cookie bits adding a pleasant crunch to the chocolate. Filled with sweetness, the chocolate bar should be a staple in a sugar-lover’s pantry.
Hot honey popcorn (8/10)
The hot honey popcorn consistently delivers flavor in every bite, with seasoning evenly coating each piece for a bold taste. The sweetness hits first, along with a subtle tang, creating layered flavors to keep things interesting. It checks all the boxes—it’s addictive and crunchy. A very unique flavor, this is a must-try for anyone looking for a new sweet and savory snack.
Spicy cheese crunchies (8/10)
These chips are a new take on the flaming hot Cheetos, without the Red 40 we all know and love. The crunch is especially satisfying and the cheese flavor comes through without being too overwhelming. There’s also a little kick of spice at the end that balances the flavors quite well. These crunchies are perfect for anyone looking for an alternative to the usual spicy Cheetos.
Sour strawberry candy belts (9/10)
The sour strawberry candy belts strike the perfect balance between sweet and sour. What we loved about this snack is that the strawberry flavor is natural and delicious rather than the common artificial flavoring. Their smaller size makes them easy to snack on, and the soft texture keeps them enjoyable no matter how many you eat. It’s a simple but delicious treat that delivers on every aspect.
Rolled corn tortilla chips, ranch flavored (9/10)
These Taki-inspired chips earned a new place in our snack rotation due to their tangy and delicious seasoning. Each chip is rolled to make for easy eating, and every part of the chip is packed with the tasty ranch flavor. Each bite is a burst of sharp, zesty ranch combined with the crisp crunch. This snack might be our new obsession.
Trader Joe’s spring restock lives up to the hype. From fruity mochi and rich chocolate to savory flavors, there’s something for every craving. What makes Trader Joe’s stand out is the number of bold, unique combinations that are fresh and new compared to your everyday snacks. “Every couple of weeks to months, we’re always getting new products,” says Trader Joe’s supervisor Patrick. If you’re looking to fill your snack rotations with different flavors this season, these snacks are worth another trip.
